~Japanese Lyrics~
Nanige naku fuiteta sono kaze ni
Kizukazu sugoshita jikan wa
Me no mae no kotoba yori omotakute
Sukoshi dake tooku ni me wo sorashita
Iitai koto moshi tsutaeraretara
Ooki na koe hariagerarenai kedo
Todoku to ii na
To My Friend
Kikoeru kana
Ore wa futsuu ni genki ni yatteru yo
Waratte ita ano hi no sora wo mi nagara
Kurikaeshi no you na mainichi mo
Sukoshizutsu atarashikute
Omoide mo uwagaki sarete shimai
Ano toki mo wasurete shimau no ka na
Donna kotoba wo erabe ii ndarou?
Kazaranai ari no mama no omoi ga
Todoku to ii na
To My Friend

Machigau koto mo mayoi mo suru kedo
Kawatte yuku sekai wo
Ore wa hashitteru yo
Natsukashii kaerimichi

Maru de ano hi no mama
Wasurenai you ni NOOTO ni tsuzutta
Kotoba wa itsumo tsutaetakatta MESSEEJI
Todoku to ii na
To My Friend

Ore wa futsuu ni genki ni yatteru yo
Waratte ita ano hi no sora he
To My Friend

Sora wo mi nagara
~English Translation~
The time which passes unnoticed
Is heavier than the words in front of my eyes
I look away to the distance a little bit
If perchance, you are told what I wanted to say
Without a loud voice, however
I hope it arrives
To my friend
I wonder if you can hear me
I’m doing well like usual
Looking at the sky where we laughed on that day
Even the days which seem to be repeating
Are a little bit new
Memories are also being overwritten at the end
And I might even forget about that time
No matter what words I choose, it’s fine, isn't it?
The plain frank memory
I hope it arrives
To my friend
It’s okay
We make mistakes and get lost, but
On this continuously changing world
I’m running
The nostalgic way back
The echoing voice
Is completely alike with that day
I write it on a note so I won’t forget
The message of words I always want to tell
I hope it arrives
To my friend
I wonder if you can hear me
I’m doing well like usual
To the sky where we laughed on that day
To my friend
It’s okay
We make mistakes and get lost, but
On this continuously changing world
I’m running
Looking up to the sky
Thanks a lot! I love this song so much...it has a very deep meaning, one that i can relate to... :)
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome! glad you find this useful c:
DeleteThank you so much! This song is one of the most moving anime songs I have ever heard. I will always love this , since in not only reminds me of the sket club trio , but my own high school otaku trio, and how much I can relate and dedicate this song to them.I miss them so much....time tore us apart as we had to part ways :'(
ReplyDeleteAlright now if you'd just let me I wanted to give you a virtual hug because your case is so damn relatable. I have my own trio too (and we consist of two boys and one girl just like the sket club, haha). we were such best friends back then, sadly now we're busy with our own lives that we couldn't hang out as much.. but this song serves as a reminder for us to keep in touch with each other, yup it has that effect! *^^*
DeleteSure! *accepts virtual hug*. Our trio was three boys but we would make one of us a girl for fun XD and though it was a bit childish , while singing Message , we all had our arms around each other , but we would would each desperately try to be in the middle , since that was Bossun's position. :-) I understand your case pretty well :after all we had to part ways to pursue higher studies. That's why reality sucks! Anime world is the only world that should exist! All worship the power of anime! O:)
ReplyDeleteWell Himeko was pretty boyish too so no problem... XD oops *dodges Himeko's punches*
DeleteI agree, reality can be a bish sometimes! And I find it really comforting that even though real world throws mighty punches to our faces all time, anime (and in my case, music especially J-music) would still be there to accept everyone without exception! XD
